In the past years, Fou Gallery continues its experimental practice as an apartment gallery, and present original and explorative exhibitions and projects. While continuing our widely recognized UNTITLEDdialogue project, we will also feature screenings of art and independent films, sound performances, private dinners and art afternoon tea parties to create a diverse and accessible art space.

In February 2016, Fou Gallery moved to the space in Stuyvesant Heights, located inside a 1910s brownstone building. Townhouses like
this, built from brown sandstone bricks with fine decorations and gardens, are among intellectuals and artists’ favorites. Stuyvesant Heights, a historic neighborhood in the heart of Brooklyn, is a legendary gathering place for African Americans, and nearly six hundred
brownstones are well preserved here. Designed by outstanding architects, these row houses and turrets with unique bay windows and bright doorways stand neatly together, reminiscing about old street scenes in the late 19th century.

The parlor room in the two-level space will be Fou Gallery’s main exhibition area. French doors and windows, plain window shades, wood floor and classical crown patterned decorations all reflect original architectural details. The parlor room was used for gatherings, small indoor performances and salons in the past, and now we try to bring cutting-edge contemporary art into it, hoping to nurture new inspirations and ideas in a 21st century setting.

多年以来，否画廊一如既往践行公寓画廊的实验形态，致力于推广和展示反映时代精神的艺术家和创意项目，持续举办原生且具探索性的展览与项目。同时，除了延续广受认可的未命题对话，我们也会增加艺术电影及独立电影放映、声音演出、家宴及艺术下午茶等活动，呈现多元可亲的艺术空间样貌。

2016年2月，否画廊迁往布鲁克林空间——一栋始建于1910年代的褐石建筑。此类由红褐色砖石砌成，装潢优雅的花园洋房也是众多文人雅士的心头之好。画廊所处的史岱文森高地（Stuyvesant Heights）历史街区位于布鲁克林绿荫葱茏的中心地带，为富有传奇色彩的非洲裔美国人聚居地，拥有近600栋保存完整的19世纪晚期与20世纪初砖房建筑群。由杰出设计师们打造，带有别致凸窗与敞亮门廊的角楼或排屋齐整并列，流露出十九世纪晚期的老时光街景。

这个空间共有两层，客厅（Parlor Room）将被用作否画廊的主展区，这里保留了原本的建筑特征，通透的法式窗门、素色的百叶窗、木地板以及古典皇冠造型的内饰皆透出旧事风貌。这一层原本的功用是会客聚友，举办小型室内演出、沙龙等，而如今，我们试图将自由前沿的当代艺术带入其间，希望在二十一世纪的情景里孕育出新的灵感与逸想。
