ONE DAY WITH WIX DESIGN PLAYGROUND

NEW YORK – Fou Gallery is pleased to host a field trip with designers from Wix Design Playground on August 9th. Wix Design Playground is the renowned cloud-based web development platform Wix’s new initiative. 40 designers are recruited from all over the world to attend a 3-month free web design program in NYC. Students can attend exciting workshops by award-winning designers, complete three individual projects, and bridge the gap between design school and the professional world.
During the whole day’s field trip, students from Wix Design Playground walked through Fou Gallery’s exhibition Orogenies with Fou Gallery founder Echo He and participated in a marble printing workshop with artist Jisook Kim. In the workshop, Jisook Kim introduced her artistic concept and demonstrate basic techniques of making marble prints, which forms basic elements in her work. Latter in Fou Gallery’s garden, the students had a special dining and drinking experience with Junzi Kitchen and Luv Tea, and enjoyed jazz performance by vocal musician Matthew Walters-Bowens.
This is our second time collaborating with Wix and we hope this event could provide inspiration for students in Wix Design Playground and beyond.

在一天的活动中，来自Wix Desgin Playground的学生们在画廊创始人何雨的导览下了解了展览《造山》，并参加了画廊在展艺术家金智淑的大理石印工作坊。在工作坊中，艺术家金智淑介绍了她的艺术理念，并展示了制作大理石印花的基本技术，这些技术是她的作品的基本构成元素。在否画廊的厨房和户外花园里，学生们体验了来自君子食堂和Luv Tea的特制餐饮，并欣赏了声乐表演者马修·沃尔特斯·鲍恩斯的爵士乐演出。
这是我们第二次与Wix合作，愿这次活动能为Wix Design Playground的学生及更多人带来启发。
