“Healing with Herbalism” is a stand alone 4-week course designed to empower participants with the knowledge and skills to care for everyday concerns using accessible herbs and natural remedies. Through hands-on learning and sensory exploration, participants will deepen their connection with plants while discovering practical ways to integrate herbal medicine into daily life. This course introduces participants to a range of healing practices, including crafting herbal teas, tinctures, and oils, as well as exploring the medicinal properties of everyday kitchen staples like basil, ginger, and onions. Participants will learn to work with spring tonic herbs to support seasonal transitions, and grounding rituals to nourish the nervous system and foster resilience in urban living. Whether you're looking to energize your body after winter, create a natural medicine cabinet, or simply build a deeper relationship with the plants around you, this course offers a mindful and empowering approach to herbal healing.
*All materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring herbal specimens for identification, inspiration and material.

Week 1 (March 20, 2025): Spring Has Sprung!
Celebrate spring with tonic herbs like stinging nettles and sweet blue violets. Explore their energy-boosting properties to transition from winter, and engage in a Spring Equinox ritual. Learn remedies for seasonal ailments like allergies and fatigue.
Week 2 (March 27, 2025): The Art of Herbal Medicine Making
Master the fundamentals of herbal medicine by creating teas, infusions, tinctures, and oils. Develop your own home remedies using fresh and dried herbs, revolutionizing your approach to everyday wellness.
Week 3 (April 3, 2025): Herbal Medicine in Your NYC Kitchen and Spice Rack
Discover the hidden healing powers of kitchen staples. Learn how basil, ginger, onions, and other common ingredients can become potent remedies, while also enhancing the flavor and medicinal quality of your meals.
Week 4 (April 10, 2025): Nervous System: Grounding Herbs and Rituals for City Living
Delve into the mysteries of the nervous system and explore herbal allies like sage, oat straw, and St. John’s wort to address pain, anxiety, and inflammation. Incorporate grounding rituals for balance and well-being in a fast-paced urban environment.

Robin Rose Bennett is a story-teller, writer, and herbalist, offering classes in Herbal Medicine and EarthSpirit Teachings since 1986 - at herb conferences, festivals, medical schools, and most joyously, outside with the plants. Robin Rose shares herbal medicine with gratitude for the loving generosity of the plants and the magic, mystery, and beauty of the web of life. She is the author of 4 books related to Healing Magic and Healing Herbs.
